I was already subscribed to the Creative Cloud Photography Pack, which got me access to both Lightroom and Photoshop. Lightroom is like a very newbie-friendly subset of Photoshop, which makes editing photos a breeze. The main selling point was that it was powerful, like Photoshop but with less work to do. That is when one of my friends introduced Lightroom to me. However, when you’re looking for that personal touch, you need to go beyond automated editing. Presets are great and can save you a ton of time. I wasn’t doing much customisations on my own.
The problem with this approach was that I became dependent on the collection of presets I had at that time. Some of the best selling stock photos on my Creative Market shop came from this process: One of my best selling photos on Creative Market. Open up a RAW photo, experiment with presets until I was satisfied and finish off with some minor touches. I remember starting my photography journey by touching up my RAW photos on Photoshop with the help of beautiful presets I bought from places like Creative Market.

I noticed that my other shots where the tennis ball is out of focus have this same issue (but there is a loss of detail in my dog's fur, for example).I have been a fan of Adobe Lightroom for years. I've only edited about 30-40 pictures with Pixelmator Pro so far but have never run into anything like this. It appears that the detail is essentially stripped out of the picture in Pixelmator Pro. I tried to edit the image in Pixelmator Pro to bring out the detail in the tennis ball, but had no success. This is with minimal edits on RawTherapee, and no edits on Pixelmator Pro or to the JPEG. The one in Pixelmator Pro looks completely different. Here's a screenshot comparison of RawTherapee, Pixelmator Pro, and the JPEG that was saved by the camera when taking the picture. I thought it might be an issue with the RAW file itself, but when I opened up the file in RawTherapee the detail was still present. On the JPEG the tennis ball has a lot of detail, but all of that detail is destroyed once I open up the photo in Pixelmator Pro. I tried opening up my RAW (.RW2) file of my dog to edit and noticed something weird with the tennis ball in the photo. However, I ran into my first issue today. I'm somewhat new to Pixelmator Pro and have been greatly enjoying it.
